Silver Jubilee Park is managed by Sungai Petani Municipal Council (MPSPK) and is located at the edge of the town centre at Jalan Sungai Layar. It was opened was offically open by the Sultan of Kedah Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah in 1983 , known for its green lungs and attractions for the only public park in Sungai Petani. It is an ideal place for relaxing, picnicking and etc where local residents here use to jog in this park every morning. You may also get a chance to see some group of people practising Tai Chi in an open field with lust green grass or even couples dating in the park !. The park has several enclosures with some species of birds like parrots, eagles, owls and some wild animals which offer a great way to spent time, and get close to the wild. Adjacent to the Park, there is also a Public Library to pay a visit if you are fond of reading newspapers, books or magazines for free.
