Puncak Janing Recreational Park
Puncak Janing, Kedah is a recreational park located in the district of Padang Terap in Malaysia. It is about 25 km from Alor Setar's city and 16 km from Kuala Nerang town. Puncak Janing Recreational Park is popular among the locals from the northern part of Kedah and the place usually crowded during weekends and public holidays. The recreational park features 1.5 km stretch of Sungai Janing with 4-tiers watefall and its astonishing geological formations of large rocks, make interesting scenery and provide an ideal place for swimming, picnics and recreation. Wide variety of flora and fauna can be found in the surrounding forest area of this classified Lowland Dipterocarp forest. The main plant species includes kasai, tulang daing, meranti tembaga and palms. Facilities provided by the park are toilets, campsites, car parks, paved cement walkways, footbridges, maternity rooms and rest huts. There is also a food stall right in front of the recreational park. And for more adventurous visitors, there are mountain bike and motorcycles paths for fun and adventure activities along with the 15 km junggle trail that leads to the Bukit Wang Recreational Forest. A motorcross circuit is also available, where an International motorcross rally was once held here.
