Silver Jubilee Park ( Taman Jubli Perak, Alor Setar )
Silver Jubilee Park (Taman Jubli Perak) is located behind the Kedah's state secretariat building complex, Wisma Darul Aman at Jalan Tunku Bendahara. It is the major recreation park in Alor Setar, which is literally known in Malay as "Rekreasi Taman Rimba". The park was opened by the Sultan of Kedah Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah in 1983. It is rather aging, but still a favourite spot for the locals to hang out for activities such as picnicking, jogging and relaxing under the tree shades. Facilities provided by the park are children playground, toilets, exercise equipments, reflexology tracks, sitting benches, jogging tracks and rest huts. There are also food stalls along the stretch of the road right in front of the park. The park has plenty of shade trees and has no lake, but one can notice that it has become a popular dating place for couples !.
