Taman Merdeka (Merdeka Garden)

Taman Merdeka (Merdeka Garden) is a small public park located at off Lebuhraya Darul Aman and situated just in front of the Darul Aman Stadium (an all-seater and a multi-purpose stadium) in Alor Setar, Kedah.

It was built to commemorate the independence of the nation from the British colonial rule, which was on the 31st, August 1957. The park was named in line with the spirit of patriotic freedom fighter in the history of Malaysia. It is managed by the Majlis Bandaraya Alor Setar (MBAS).
